Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) Brenham State Supported Living Center seeks a Direct Support Professional IV, Lead/Charge DSP to coordinate habilitation and supervision within assigned homes. The role includes mentoring DSP staff, supervising daily activities, and ensuring safety and documentation in accordance with individual plans.

This full-time position requires a Texas driver’s license, eligibility for state vehicle use, and flexibility to work day shifts with possible

Qualifications

• One year experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
• Experience implementing behavior programs or assisting people with intellectual developmental disabilities with activities of daily living.
• Experience completing documentation or writing reports.
• Two years DSP experience preferred; High School diploma or equivalent; experience leading or supervising others.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate habilitation and rehabilitation, behavior management, crisis intervention and treatment programs.
• Supervise and mentor DSP staff, ensuring staff are engaged with individuals.
• Document progress and maintain daily records and life documentation.
• Ensure the home is safe and well-maintained, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team.
