Job summary

United Road is seeking a Driver Manager to oversee a regional fleet of company drivers and ICs, ensuring service, safety, quality, productivity, and retention. You will conduct regular reviews, coordinate with Fleet, HR, and Safety, and drive corrective actions when performance falls short.

The role emphasizes safety compliance, driver training, payroll accuracy, and efficient load planning, with a focus on building trust and teamwork within a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible driver management or related experience.
• Excellent reading, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidential information and work as part of a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage a group of drivers and/or ICs, including performance reviews and corrective action plans.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance (FMCSA hours of service, drug testing, licensing).
• Coordinate with Fleet Manager, HR, and Safety for issues affecting performance or termination.
• Train and mentor drivers on tools, systems, and processes.
• Monitor driver schedules, utilization, payroll discrepancies, and handoffs to load planning.
