Job summary

SONIC Drive-In is seeking a General Manager to lead and develop a team of crew, carhops, and management with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires overseeing operations, scheduling, inventory control, and adherence to brand standards while driving sales and profitability. Candidates should have restaurant management experience and strong leadership and communications skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies in business, restaurant management or related fields preferred.
• Minimum of two years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred) or equivalent.
• Able to work a 5-day week with 4 closing shifts (nights/weekends/holidays) or 4-day week with guarantees.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and selection practices.
• Knowledge of federal/state labor laws and health/sanitation regulations.
• Strong leadership, supervisory and verbal/written communication skills.
• Basic accounting and computer skills.
• Ability to follow directions, multi-task and solve problems independently.

Responsibilities

• Manages, trains, monitors and coaches Crew/Team members, Carhops and Skating Carhops.
• Directs and assigns staff to meet operational standards for all aspects of food service.
• Adheres to employee handbook, policies and practices; monitors compliance.
• Performs restaurant opening and/or closing duties.
• Prepares schedules; adjusts staffing to match demand.
• Monitors inventory; places orders within cost controls.
• Maintains employee and payroll records.
• Fosters customer service and resolves guest requests promptly.
• Interviews and hires staff to achieve proper staffing levels.
• Develops action plans to address unfavorable trends in finances or sales.
• Develops and implements a marketing plan.
