HDR is seeking a Drinking Water Market Sector Development Director to lead the development and implementation of strategies that drive growth across HDR geographies. The role collaborates with Market Sector and Regional leadership, client managers and Directors to advance water services from planning to operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years relevant industry experience in drinking water planning/engineering design
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
• Professional engineering registration
• Experience developing strategic positioning for planning/engineering services
• Experience managing client relationships and project pursuits
• Experience building programs in new or competitive markets
• Demonstrated ability to win high‑value contracts in the A/E/C industry
• Strong communication and negotiation skills

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of business strategies across HDR geographies
• Serve as Client Manager for selected key clients within the Sector
• Lead pursuits, develop pursuit strategies, proposals and interviews
• Promote HDR services to Drinking Water clients across geographies
• Support international market development (Canada, UK, Australia)
• Develop relationships with senior leadership and industry counterparts
• Provide staff development, talent management and recruiting support
• Drive client satisfaction, staff development and technical excellence
