Job summary

HDR is seeking a Drinking Water Market Sector Development Director to drive strategy and growth across HDR geographies, coordinating with Market Sector leadership, regional teams and client managers. The role emphasizes pursuit leadership, strategic development and delivering HDR services to drinking water clients worldwide.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in drinking water planning and project management, a civil/environmental engineering degree, PE registration, and proven client-relations

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years relevant industry experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• Professional engineering registration.
• Experience developing strategic positioning and technical differentiation for planning/engineering services.
• Experience managing client relationships and project pursuits.
• Staff development and recruiting experience.
• Active involvement in industry associations and market presence.
• Ability to travel and engage in-person.

Responsibilities

• Lead market-sector strategy and industry leadership within Drinking Water.
• Act as Client Manager for key clients and be visible in the industry.
• Lead pursuits with development of strategies, proposals, and interview prep.
• Promote HDR services to Drinking Water clients across geographies.
• Support international growth in Canada, the UK and Australia.
• Coordinate with regional leaders to develop MS initiatives.
• Guide pursuit processes using proven capture techniques.
• Provide direct support to pursuits through client relationships and strategy.
• Participate in industry associations in leadership roles.
