Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee in Hermitage seeks a Retail Donor Specialist - Materials Handler Associate to enhance donor experiences while safely receiving and moving donated merchandise through backroom operations, including the Donation Express Center.

The role balances donor service, safety, productivity, and accuracy in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, reporting to store leadership and supporting production and store replenishment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in retail, donation intake, production, warehouse, or customer-facing roles preferred but not required.
• Ability to balance donor interactions with operational responsibilities.
• Ability to follow safety procedures consistently.
• Bilingual language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors professionally and courteously to create a welcoming first impression.
• Receive donated goods in accordance with donation guidelines and safety procedures.
• Assist donors with unloading and questions to ensure a safe, efficient experience.
• Load, unload, and stage donated goods, including trailers and trucks.
• Operate material handling equipment as trained (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
• Maintain clean, organized backroom, staging, and trailer areas and report hazards.
