Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a Customer Service Associate to assist customers with donated goods and ensure donations are pre-sorted safely and promptly.

The role requires greeting donors, sorting items by category, and loading trailers while maintaining safety and cleanliness. Weekend/evening availability may be needed. Background check will be required. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• No previous experience required.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to all customers, internal and external.
• Assist customers with their donations by greeting every donor and helping them unload their vehicle without damage.
• Accurately presort donations by category and label donations accordingly.
• Safely, efficiently and accurately load trailers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment for safety and efficiency.
• Ensure the security of company assets; report security or theft concerns.
• Know and adhere to department policies and procedures.
• Communicate with supervisor to report problems in donation areas and with customers.
• Set a positive public image by following dress code and hygiene standards.
• Exercise sound judgment when dealing with customers to benefit both customers and Goodwill.
