Job summary

UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies seeks a PBX Technician (PSTS-2026-26130) to provide Base Telecom Support at Whidbey Island, WA. The role combines in-office and in-field duties, including switch maintenance, voicemail support, and DoD standard compliance.

A sign-on bonus of $2,500 is offered and training begins after 30 days of employment. The position requires eligibility for a Secret clearance, occasional travel, and an on-site work arrangement with a target hourly

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in IT or Cybersecurity (preferred).
• 2 years of relevant experience required; 5 years preferred.
• AT Level II certification per DoD 8570.01-M (required).
• CompTIA Security+ certification reimbursement after 30 days of employment.
• Prior DoD network experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain government-owned PBX switches.
• Troubleshooting and repair of switch issues.
• Software updates and patching.
• Installation and configuration of switch hardware.
• Daily operation monitoring and upkeep.
• Support for voicemail systems and IPE.
• Travel to remote locations weekly using company vehicle.
• Ensure switch systems meet DoD/Navy standards.
