Job summary

Bowhead Family of Companies seeks a Private Branch Exchange (PBX) Technician to support McConnell Air Force Base BTS operations. You will maintain Avaya voice systems, manage ISP/OSP cabling, and respond to outages to keep mission-critical communications up and running.

The role requires DoD IAT Level II certification within 90 days, 24/7 shift readiness, and strong documentation practices across maintenance actions and test results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Formal telecom/electronics/information technology training preferred.
• DoD IAT Level II certification required within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair BTS infrastructure for voice and data services.
• Provide technical support for Avaya voice switching systems and telephony equipment.
• Support VoIP and SIP-based telephony environments.
• Perform ISP/OSP installation, termination, splicing, testing, labeling, and repair of cabling.
• Respond to outages, alarms, and tickets to ensure mission readiness.
• Conduct PMIs and document findings and actions.
• Coordinate safety, permitting, and excavation support for telecom work.
• Install, modify, and document circuits, cross-connects, and service restorations.
• Test cabling with approved equipment and document results.
• Maintain thorough records using approved systems.
• Provide input for engineering reviews and site surveys.
• Comply with DoD/installation policies and safety procedures.
