Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking an experienced Dock Supervisor to lead a team in a fast-paced LTL operation in the Kansas City area. You will manage dock personnel, schedule workflows, and ensure adherence to safety and company policies while driving efficiency and cost reductions.

Responsibilities include hiring and coaching staff, coordinating with customers, handling essential paperwork, and meeting KPI targets.

Qualifications

Extensive management experience in LTL trucking or similar freight environment.
Strong leadership and people development skills including hiring, coaching and performance management.
Ability to interpret and follow safety rules, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Lead dock employees to meet targets, monitor performance and coach staff.
Plan dock operations, schedules and staffing to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
Enforce company policies and safety regulations; oversee compliance and incident reporting.
Participate in hiring decisions and terminations as needed.
Administer service center business plan components under supervision.
Maintain KPI performance and operational efficiency.
Coordinate with customers via phone, fax or email to ensure smooth operations.
Oversee paperwork flow and documentation for dock activities.
Work 50 hours per week and be available for various shifts, including nights/weekends.
