Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking an experienced supervisor to lead dock teams, optimize schedules and ensure a safe, efficient operation. You will coach staff, manage KPI attainment and coordinate with management on the Service Center plan. Strong leadership and trucking industry knowledge are essential.

The role requires monitoring paperwork flow, coordinating with customers, and ensuring timely communications while supporting a 50-hour work week in a dynamic freight environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED, or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in management, dispatch and dock operations required.
• Strong leadership to hire, coach, train and counsel staff.
• Knowledge of local metropolitan area and trucking paperwork.
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week, nights and weekends as needed.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Lead dock employees, set targets, monitor performance and provide coaching.
• Ensure efficient, safe L2L operations; plan docks and schedule work.
• Enforce safety rules, policies and government regulations.
• Involved in hiring and termination decisions and processes.
• Administer portions of the Service Center business plan as directed.
• Meet KPI targets and utilize company tools to improve productivity.
• Review schedules to increase efficiency and lower costs.
• Oversee equipment (trailers/tractors) assignment in collaboration with others.
• Communicate with customers by phone, fax or email about status.
• Oversee dock paperwork to ensure timely, accurate processing.
• Maintain regular attendance; perform other duties as required.
