Estes Express Lines is seeking a capable Operations Supervisor in Illinois to lead dock teams, oversee scheduling and ensure safe, efficient LTL operations. You will drive performance, coach staff, and manage paperwork while aligning with service center goals.

Key duties include hiring decisions, KPI tracking, tool utilization, and ensuring timely communications with customers. A high school diploma is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with long hours and weekend work expected.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Experience in management, dispatch and dock operations in LTL.
• Ability to hire, coach, train and terminate employees.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to work 50 hours per week including nights/weekends.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead dock employees and set performance targets.
• Manage efficient, safe LTL operations and dock planning.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety rules.
• Handle hiring and termination processes.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan.
• Maintain KPI achievement and use company tools.
• Communicate with customers via phone, fax or email.
• Oversee paperwork and ensure timely processing.
