Job summary

Estes Express in Arlington, TX is seeking a Dock Supervisor to lead the dock team in a fast-paced LTL operation. You will set targets, monitor performance, coach staff and ensure safety, paperwork accuracy, and KPI achievement.

The role requires prior dock/dispatch leadership in LTL, strong communication, and the ability to manage schedules, equipment movement, and customer communications. A high work ethic and willingness to work extended hours are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry, including basic paperwork flow preferred.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience required, preferably in LTL trucking industry.
• Must be knowledgeable of local metropolitan area.
• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate employees.

Responsibilities

• Report to Operations Manager / Assistant Service Center Manager and/or Service Center Manager.
• Lead, guide and direct dock employees; set targets, monitor performance, and provide coaching and development.
• Enforce company policies, safety rules, and government regulations.
• Participate in hiring and termination processes.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan as set forth by the Service Center Manager.
• Meet all KPI targets and drive operational efficiency.
• Utilize enhancement tools and processes to improve performance.
• Review and revise schedules to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Oversee equipment movement (trailers/tractors) in collaboration with others.
• Maintain timely and accurate customer communications via phone, fax, or email.
• Ensure all dock paperwork is processed correctly and on time.
• Maintain regular attendance.
