Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a Supervisory role to lead dock staff and ensure a safe, efficient operation in a fast-paced environment. You will guide teams, implement plans, and monitor performance to achieve KPI targets.

The position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. You will manage dock scheduling, equipment movement, and customer communications by phone, fax, and email.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in trucking, logistics, and dock operations considered an asset.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience required.
• Strong leadership including hiring, coaching, counseling and termination capabilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead dock employees, set targets, monitor performance, and provide coaching and development.
• Manage an efficient, safe operation including dock planning and scheduling.
• Enforce policies, safety rules, and government regulations.
• Contribute to hiring and termination decisions as applicable.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan and meet KPI targets.
• Utilize and optimize company tools to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Communicate with customers by phone, fax or email and manage dock paperwork.
• Oversee equipment assignment and movement in collaboration with supervisors/management.
• Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
