Job summary

Sanford Health is hiring for a DME customer service role in Minnesota. You will communicate with patients, referral sources, and clinicians to coordinate orders, authorizations, and delivery of durable medical equipment.

You will input demographics, educate patients about insurance and financial responsibilities, and ensure accurate processing of sales orders while maintaining excellent service and compliance across payer requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of computer functions and basic Microsoft Office applications.
• Detail oriented, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to follow through to the end.
• Basic knowledge of the medical field, with prior experience in home medical equipment preferred.
• When applicable, the employee must have a current valid driver's license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category III drivers.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line communication with patients, referral sources, and clinicians to facilitate ordering and delivery of DME products, supplies and services.
• Ensure all patient information is processed timely and accurately to enhance patient satisfaction and optimize revenue.
• Receive inquiries and orders in person, by telephone, fax, and email.
• Gather all necessary documentation related to payer requirements, SOPs, and compliance programs.
• Obtain any needed prior authorizations for services per payer policy.
• Educate patients on insurance plans, provisions, and financial responsibilities.
