Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Distribution Engineering Supervisor to lead a team designing electrical distribution packages from 4kV to 138kV, in OH/UG/URD environments. The role blends office design work with field oversight, client interaction, and right-of-way coordination.

You will oversee 5-8 engineers, perform structural calculations, permit coordination, and ensure QA/QC across projects, with 15-25% travel and a hybrid work model that includes in-office collaboration and remote days.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant distribution engineering experience.
• ABET-accredited BS in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Industrial Engineering.
• Experience with NESC standards, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, Bluebeam.
• Experience with distribution design tools such as BOUD, Pole Foreman, Spida-Calc, O-Calc, DDS and SAP.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to perform both office and field work; 15-25% travel.
• Experience with ESRI GIS is preferred.
• Prior team leadership experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 5-8 engineers to develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems (4kV–138kV).
• Oversee onboarding, performance, and day-to-day assignments of direct reports; act as technical lead for engineers/designers.
• Develop permitting documents for AHJs; coordinate with permit agencies and right-of-way specialists.
• Perform engineering calculations including structural analysis, guying, sag/tension, and voltage drop.
• QA/QC reviews of work for submittals to clients.
• Provide engineering support during construction and post-construction reviews.
• Conduct root cause analyses of outages and mitigation using engineering principles.
