Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Distribution Engineering Supervisor to lead a team of engineers in designing and delivering electrical distribution packages from 4kV to 35kV, including both overhead and underground systems. You'll ensure quality, safety, and adherence to client standards while coordinating with various stakeholders.

The role supports remote work with preference for candidates near Pittsburgh, PA area to support local clients; travel 15–25% may be required.

Qualifications

4+ years of relevant experience required.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred; other combinations considered.
Experience with NESC Standards, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and Bluebeam and/or Adobe.
Experience with distribution design tools such as BOUD, Pole Foreman, Spida-Calc, O-Calc, DDS and SAP.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to review other engineers' designs with an eye for detail.
Some travel to sites; overnight travel 15–25%.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of 3–8 engineers to develop design and construction work packages for electrical distribution systems 4kV–35kV.
Oversee onboarding, performance, and day-to-day assignments of direct reports.
Act as technical lead for engineers and designers; provide training to juniors.
Work with Engineering Manager to maintain scope, schedule, and budget.
Review client-provided work and communicate progress, issues, and schedule.
Develop permitting documents for AHJs and coordinate with agencies.
Coordinate with right-of-way, system owners, and 3rd parties; travel as needed.
Perform engineering calculations: pole loading, guying, conductor sags, voltage drop, and flicker.
QA/QC reviews of work for submittals; support during construction and post-construction.
Conduct root cause analyses of outages and mitigation strategies.
