Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a detail oriented dispatcher assistant to support freight manifests, driver assignment, and daily dispatch operations. You will help maintain dispatch sheets, communicate issues to drivers, and assist with Line Haul activities to meet service standards.

The role requires strong customer service, Excel/Word skills, and the ability to work in a high‑volume environment with tight deadlines. Prior AS400 experience is preferred and a valid work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of customer care, OS&D, billing, tracing and dispatching.
• MS Word and Excel proficiency required.
• AS400 experience strongly preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create freight manifests and assist dispatch with driver assignments.
• Maintain dispatch sheets and advise drivers on issues.
• Schedule, track, trace and bill freight activities.
• Coordinate Line Haul with Service Centers to move freight timely.
• Interact with supervisors, service centers and operations staff.
• Assist with planning dispatches to meet cost and service goals.
• Maintain OS&D records and OS&D area; investigate discrepancies.
• Provide on the job training and guidance to staff as needed.
