Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Director of Web Experience Design to shape the vision and strategy for our web ecosystem. You will lead, mentor, and elevate a design team, focusing on discovery, engagement, ecommerce, and conversion, grounded in customer insight and data.

You will drive experimentation, alignment with product and marketing, and ongoing optimization, while staying ahead of evolving practices including AI-enabled experiences and accessibility. A strong portfolio is required.

Qualifications

• Senior Web Experience Design role with 3+ years of people management experience.
• Experience with ecommerce, growth, conversion optimization or other transactional digital experiences.
• Deep expertise in UX and UI design principles and modern digital design processes.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills; able to influence senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Set the vision for Cengage’s web experience and UX/UI strategy.
• Partner with Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Engineering to run A/B and multivariate tests.
• Advance ecommerce and conversion experiences across the customer journey.
• Design cohesive experiences from acquisition to engagement and onboarding.
• Use data to identify opportunities from qualitative research and analytics.
• Foster a culture of continuous optimization and learning.
