Job summary

Agency DEPT OF ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION in New York City seeks a permanent Administrative City Planner (10053) to lead programs and capital/expense projects within the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment. The role requires strong management, budgeting, and cross-agency collaboration across engineering and procurement teams.

The Director will drive performance metrics, oversee bid processes, and coordinate with the Office of Management and Budget to ensure successful delivery of urban planning

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree with four (4) years of full-time experience in city planning, including at least 18 months in a managerial capacity.
• Graduate work leading to an advanced degree in city planning or related field may substitute for up to two years of non-managerial experience.
• Graduate degree in law may substitute for two years of non-managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management for programs, projects and initiatives to drive goals, timelines, and resource planning.
• Develop and implement performance metrics and KPIs to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Oversee budgeting and procurement processes, including bid packages, change orders, payments, and contract closeouts.
• Ensure adequate engineering resources for TOCs and JOCs, aligning with BEDC and NYPA coordination needs.
