Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a senior Director-level professional to lead transportation AD projects within HDR’s Transportation Business Group. You’ll drive multi-disciplinary collaboration, policy alignment, and contract negotiations to deliver complex civil infrastructure programs.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in large transportation projects, a PE license, and a deep understanding of HDR’s matrix organization. Travel up to 50% is required as projects span regions across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of experience in transportation/infrastructure projects.
• Experience in pursuit and execution of large civil projects.
• Knowledge of HDR matrix organization and commercial terms.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Project Delivery Program Director for the effective pursuit and delivery of Alternative Delivery projects.
• Drive the Alternate Delivery project approvals per HDR policy and risk committee approvals.
• Coordinate with HDR groups on policy, staff resources, contractor and developer relationships, and contract terms.
• Work with HDR Legal to negotiate contract terms for Alternative Delivery projects.
• Collaborate with Transportation leadership and Regional AD Leads on upcoming projects and partner relationships.
• Lead Transportation Leadership calls to discuss contractor relationships across regions for HDR matrix collaboration.
• Advise HDR leadership on commercial and technical trends in Alternative Delivery.
• Cooperate with HDR teams to maximize strengths of HDR matrix.
• Manage AD Regional Leads and Resource Manager to support approvals and execution.
• Negotiate teaming agreements and design subcontracts with other entities.
• Foster relationships in the AD industry to raise HDR visibility.
• Engage in continual improvement of methods and HDR’s competitive position.
• Report on Transportation Business Group AD status.
• Reviewer/Approver for MOA actions for AD Projects.
• Could serve as Principal-in-Charge for selected projects or contracts.
