Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an experienced Alternative Delivery Director within the Transportation Business Group to lead large, complex infrastructure projects using design-build and P3 approaches.

You will drive project approvals, coordinate with legal and risk teams, and guide HDR staff across multiple regions to execute high-value AD programs. Candidates should have 10+ years in transportation engineering, a PE license, and a deep understanding of HDR’s matrix organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional licensure (PE) preferred.
• 10+ years of related experience in transportation infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Project Delivery Program Director for Alternative Delivery projects.
• Drive approvals per HDR policies and risk framework.
• Collaborate with HDR leadership on policy, staffing, and contracts.
• Negotiate terms with HDR Legal and Risk Committee input.
• Coordinate with Transportation Leadership on client discussions and teaming.
• Lead recurring HDR matrix collaborations across Areas and Regions.
• Advise HDR leadership on commercial and technical trends in AD.
• Work with Area Managers to negotiate teaming and subcontracts.
• Engage with industry associations to raise HDR visibility.
• Support improvements in methods and best practices for AD markets.
