Job summary
Chime is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the AI & App Experience (AAX) organization, overseeing Jade and our AI platform, as well as core app experiences and the design system. You will own multi-quarter strategy, build a leadership bench, and set the technical bar for AI-native, member-facing products, collaborating with Product, Design, Data Science, and Risk teams.
You will drive an engineering culture focused on safe, scalable shipping of LLM-powered features and align roadmap
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in management of managers or multi-team leadership.
- Proven track record building/scaling AI/LLM-powered consumer products.
- Experience hiring and developing engineering leaders and building leadership pipelines.
- Strong fundamentals across stack (React Native, Python/Ruby, GraphQL, distributed systems).
Responsibilities
- Define multi-quarter engineering strategy aligned with product priorities.
- Build and lead a bench of technical leaders and senior staff.
- Set technical direction and architectural standards for AI-native experiences.
- Drive AI-native engineering culture and safe, scalable shipping of features.
- Partner with Product, Design, Data Science, and Risk to shape roadmaps.
