Job summary

Chime seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the AI & App Experience (AAX) organization, owning Jade and Chime’s AI-platform infrastructure as well as core app experiences and design system. You’ll translate priorities into scalable plans, build a bench of tech leaders, and guide architectural decisions for AI-native consumer products.

You will partner with Product, Design, Data Science, and Risk to shape long-range roadmaps, and drive a culture of high performance while maintaining strong

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of managers or multi-team orgs.
• Track record building and scaling AI/LLM-powered consumer products with architectural influence.
• Experience hiring and developing engineering leaders and building leadership pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-quarter strategy for AAX engineering.
• Lead a bench of tech leaders and senior staff; shape technical bar across AI-native products.
• Set direction and architecture for AI Experiences, AI Platform, App Journey, and Design System.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, and Risk/Compliance to align roadmaps.
