Job summary

Chime is seeking an engineering leader to guide an AI & App Experience (AAX) squad. You’ll coach 4–5 engineers, own end-to-end delivery, and ship features with AI at scale. You’ll code alongside the team and set the bar for LLM-powered capabilities, guardrails, and observability to ensure reliability for millions of members.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, and Risk, shaping quarterly plans and driving sustainable engineering and on-call reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience leading 4–5 engineers with coaching and performance management.
• Hands-on coding and ongoing contribution to codebase.
• Proven use of AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery and adoption by teams.
• Fluency with AI-native development, LLMs, and observability practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a squad of 4–5 engineers including hiring and 1:1s.
• Own end-to-end delivery and ensure service SLAs and health.
• Write and ship production code with the team.
• Set technical direction, architecture, and quality standards.
• Leverage AI tooling to raise team productivity and durability.
• Guide LLM-powered capabilities, guardrails, and observability at scale.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, and Risk on planning.
• Coordinate dependencies and capacity with cross-functional partners.
