Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is hiring a Director of Construction to oversee the full construction lifecycle for wind and PV/BESS projects. The role entails supervising construction management, scheduling, costing, and vendor coordination to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The candidate will lead 3rd party teams, manage budgets, and provide regular status updates to senior leadership. This position supports hybrid work in the Houston, TX area and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 15+ years of progressive construction experience.
• Experience supervising and managing direct reports, including hiring and performance reviews.
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for financial and analytical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction management, planning and scheduling, project execution, and cost management.
• Develop project execution plans for 3rd party construction and ensure timely approvals.
• Coordinate with Design Team on long lead materials and substitutions.
• Review plans and specs, expedite approvals, and manage scope of work changes.
• Prepare weekly and monthly status reports for the Vice President of Construction.
• Maintain project budgets and track 3rd party invoices and change orders.
• Ensure construction records are maintained and filed in the project document system.
• Interact with AHJ and procurement to manage vendors and contracts.
