Job summary

Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) is seeking a Food Service Director to lead the dining program at a long-term care facility. You will oversee a single-site operation, ensuring high food quality, safety, and efficient inventory management.

The role requires managing staff, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with menus and regulatory standards while delivering excellent resident dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in food service management
• Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and supervision
• CDM certification preferred (or as required by state)
• Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) within 14 days of employment
• Must obtain Food Service Manager (FSM) and LTC-FSM within 60 days of employment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds; stand, walk for extended periods
• Residency within service area required
• Basic computer skills for records/reports; may require sanitation course

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the food service team to meet quality and safety standards.
• Maintain records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG software.
• Conduct staff training, quality control, and in-service sessions; perform roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as needed.
• Communicate directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators to staff.
• Use protective gear, ensure safe mixing and use of cleaning solutions; report equipment needs or malfunctions promptly.
• Follow infection control, universal precautions, and handwashing procedures.
• Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and timely completion of tasks.
• Represent HCSG positively through courteous interactions with supervisors, staff, residents, and guests.
• All other duties as assigned.
