Job summary

Georgia State University is seeking a Dining Hall Supervisor to oversee day-to-day dining hall operations and staff at the Atlanta Campus. The role emphasizes safe, clean, customer-focused service and adherence to health standards.

The supervisor will participate in recruitment, planning, scheduling, and training, while coordinating with management on food production paperwork, inventory, and supplier issues. A flexible schedule including nights and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree with three years of food service experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Physical requirements: extended standing/walking, bending, stooping, lifting up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensure participation in sustainability efforts for PantherDining.
• Use waste management systems to reduce food waste and follow Green Restaurant guidelines for sustainability certification.
• Ensure shifts work cohesively to meet dining hall goals.
• Participate in recruitment processes.
• Assist in planning, scheduling, training, and development of assigned personnel.
• Assist in completing performance evaluations.
• Coordinate student assistant program.
• Oversee FoodPro utilization for dining hall.
• Enter data timely and maintain proper inventory procedures.
• Assist in menu item selection based on taste, labor, and cost.
• Coach and implement corrective measures for personnel actions.
• Oversee store clerks for receiving, storage, and invoicing.
