Job summary

Capital One Café in Detroit is hiring a Café Ambassador to be the face of the brand, guiding guests through digital banking in a vibrant community hub rather than a traditional bank. You’ll move throughout the Café, connecting people with Capital One’s offerings while delivering high-energy service.

This role emphasizes relationship-building over hard sales, with a focus on customer experience, event support, and helping customers master mobile tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Certification.
• At least 1 year of Retail, Sales, or Customer Service experience.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years banking experience preferred.
• 2+ years retail or customer-facing experience preferred.
• Proficient in G-Suite.
• Strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Be a Natural Connector: Proactively engage with guests in a high-energy environment that serves as both a community space and a local coffee shop. (Note: You are a banking guide, not a barista—you won’t be serving coffee!)
• Serve as a Brand Advocate: You’ll share the value of Capital One’s products and services through genuine conversation rather than transactions.
• Simplify the Complex: Guide customers through our digital ecosystem, helping them master mobile tools and troubleshooting tech challenges with ease.
• Facilitate Purposeful Impact: Host and support local events that promote financial health.
• Advocate & Problem‑Solve: You’ll advocate for our customers, problem solve, and own issue resolution in alignment with compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Act as a Culture Carrier: Foster a supportive, inclusive environment where every guest feels welcome.
• Stay Agile & Engaged: This isn’t a traditional “behind‑the‑desk” banking role. You’ll be on the move and active throughout the day, moving through the Cafe to connect with the community.
