Job summary

Howard Community College is seeking a Computer Solutions Technician III to create and implement desktop solutions for users across campus. You will research secure endpoint computing, install hardware/software, and diagnose desktop problems in classrooms, labs, and remote settings.

Responsibilities include managing desktop images, deploying software via ConfigMgr, training staff, and collaborating with the Network and Server Groups while maintaining security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Associates’ Degree in CS or related, plus 3 years in technical computer field.
• A+ and Network+ certifications required.
• Strong knowledge of Windows desktop OS and Microsoft Office.
• Imaging programs and automated deployment tools knowledge.
• Scripting experience with PowerShell or VBScript.
• Experience with virtual environments and Active Directory.

Responsibilities

• Provide desktop support to faculty, staff and students.
• Remediate vulnerabilities Monthly; update configurations as needed.
• Create and deploy desktop solutions using imaging, scripting, and GPO.
• Manage desktop images and ConfigMgr deployment workflows.
• Coordinate repair or replacement of desktop equipment and software.
• Assist with cabling, PBX and network connectivity as needed.
