Job summary

Howard County Public School System seeks a Computer Technician to provide on-site technology support at assigned locations. You will install, maintain, and repair computer hardware, software, networks, and peripherals while handling ITSM tickets and collaborating with vendors.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with at least one year of relevant experience; a bachelor’s degree and industry certifications are preferred, especially for advancement in a K-12 setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in computer equipment, network, or peripheral support.
• Preferred: Bachelor's in IT/ Educational Tech, K-12 experience, and industry certifications (A+, Network+ etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for installation, maintenance, and repair of computers, networks, and peripherals.
• Test, diagnose, repair, and replace equipment; work with ITSM tickets to resolve issues.
• Communicate effectively with staff, administration, and vendors; maintain equipment and tools.
• Assist with safeguarding and maintaining safe work practices and vehicles.
