Job summary

St. Joseph's/Candler is seeking a PC support technician to install and test organization-approved software and provide expert assistance to hospital staff on hardware and software use.

You will handle first contact for PC issues, determine if systems need replacement or re-imaging, and coordinate with the network team on standards. A strong onboarding focus includes account setup in Active Directory and Meditech.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of PC support experience.
• Experience with Windows 7 & 8.
• HDI Certification must be obtained within first year of employment.
• ITIL Certification is strongly encouraged.
• CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft MCSA Windows 7 or Windows 8, or Cisco CCNA.

Responsibilities

• Respond to technical assistance requests and analyze issues; determine if PC needs replacement or re-imaging.
• Document hardware failures, repairs, installations and removals; update work orders.
• Assist in recommending desktop hardware standards aligned with network requirements.
• Create and manage Active Directory, e-mail and Meditech user accounts for new hires and terminate accounts as needed.

Provides expert assistance to hospital staff in the use of personal computers, other hardware and software applications. Provides support for all PC-related hardware.

Core Job Functions

• Responds to request for technical assistance to make initial contact and analysis of computer issue. Determines if the computer needs to be replaces or re-imaged. Tracks issues to resolution updating the internal work order system and/or communicating processes with relevant information and follow-ups with user to verify problem has been resolved to their satisfaction, or if needed, escalates problems to appropriate support team for tier III support.
• Assists in recommendation of new desktop hardware standards and ensures recommendation is consistent with technical requirements and standards of the customer's network. Accurately documents instances of desktop equipment or component failure, repair, installation and removal. Assists Network Administrator in maintaining accurate maps of network structure.
• Creation and notification of Active Directory, e-mail and Meditech user accounts prior to new co-worker start date. Disable/removal of terminated co-worker user accounts as per termination policy.
