Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks an experienced Desktop/Workstation Design Engineer to participate in architecture discussions, system reviews, and technology roadmap planning for desktop integration efforts. You will lead OS image design, large-scale software deployment, and patching strategies across desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers.

Qualifications

• Upgrading desktops from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and upgrading applications.
• Independent work with minimal guidance in Windows image engineering.
• Experience with security controls on OS images.
• Microsoft Office engineering experience.
• Integrating anti-virus in images.
• VPN/Remote access (Cisco Secure Access with RSA).
• Windows scripting experience.
• Good writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Desktop OS images for enterprise deployment.
• Develops large-scale deployment solutions using MECM and MDT.
• Develops tests and distributes software packages across desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers.
• Provides information and recommendations to meet user software requirements.
• Implements OS deployment methodologies including automated server builds.
• Supports OS patching infrastructure (BigFix or Windows Update/MECM).
• Analyzes desktop/hardware for deployments and performance.
• Performs security-related tasks including vulnerability scans, auditing, and patch management.
