Job summary

Golden State Dermatology is seeking a Medical Receptionist to staff the front desk at our Torrance location. You will warmly welcome patients, assist with check-in/out, verify insurance coverage, handle phone inquiries, and maintain accurate patient records.

You will manage appointment scheduling, audit for future bookings, and contact patients on waiting lists to offer earlier slots when available. You’ll educate patients on skincare products and support the team with multitasking as needed.

Qualifications

• Customer service mindset and patient-focused approach.
• Dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics experience preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance carriers (Medicare, commercial, HMO).
• Experience using EMR software (EClinicalWorks, EMA) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in/check-out patients with a welcoming attitude.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients.
• Answer phones and manage patient records efficiently.
• Coordinate appointment scheduling, confirm attendance, and collect intake details.
• Fill earliest available slots when openings occur and manage waiting lists.
• Educate patients on skincare products and sell available products.
