Job summary

Heartland Dental supports Richmond Family Dentistry, seeking a Dental Office Assistant to join a collaborative team in a fast-paced office. The role involves greeting patients, handling front desk duties, and coordinating with insurance providers to ensure smooth patient flow.

You will use Dentrix for scheduling and records, manage appointment confirmations for multiple providers, and assist with billing and collections while upholding HIPAA standards and protecting patient information.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection awareness.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients to create a positive first impression.
• Manage front office duties: answer phones, check mail/email, and communicate with patients/insurers.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and records; schedule/confirm multi-provider appointments.
• Process insurance claims and follow up on outstanding items; verify benefits.
• Post insurance/patient payments and manage accounts receivable; discuss treatment fees and options.
