Job summary

North American Transportation Management Institute is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee the Delivery staff, ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient service across routes and shifts.

Responsibilities include scheduling, budgeting, asset management, and coordination with Sales and Marketing to address customer issues while enforcing DOT, OSHA and food-safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 2- or 4-year degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or similar major preferred.
• 1-3 years related experience and/or training.
• Complete a Sysco approved defensive driving program.
• HazMat certification preferred.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License meeting Company standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the daily work and safety of Delivery Associates, including adherence to SOPs, planned routes, and safe customer service.
• Ensures Delivery Associate compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (DOT, OSHA) and that electronic logs are current and accurate.
• Manages labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
• Prepares work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed.
• Oversees proper selection and utilization of company assets in support of Delivery department.
• Organizes required repairs with proper departments as necessary.
• Reviews delivery functions and productivity reporting.
• Suggests efficiency ideas and cost reduction measures and assists with implementation of delivery changes.
• Interprets trains and enforces Company policies, protocols and procedures including food safety, DOT, record keeping.
• Communicates with Sales Management and Marketing Associates to resolve customer or delivery issues.
• Visits customer locations and meets with customers to address issues and assess delivery difficulty.
• Maintains associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings and keeps open communication channels.
• Monitors associate morale and responds to ideas for engagement and enablement.
• Coordinates with Safety department for training, observations and safety inspections.
• Executes staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and terminations.
