Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a capable Store Operations Associate to support the Deli Bakery HMS Department. In the absence of the Deli Manager, you will supervise Deli Bakery HMS Associates and manage labor to meet productivity goals, while maintaining brand culture and strong customer service.

You will help drive budgeted results, ensure safety, quality and appearance across the department, and train staff in company policies and technical processes to deliver a great shopping experience.

Qualifications

• A high school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job function.
• Must be accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar accrediting organization as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" or will be required to attend company provided training and have the ability to achieve accreditation within the first 90 days of employment; Accreditation must be maintained while employed in a position requiring accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager.
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to achieve productivity expectations.
• Provide leadership and motivation aligned with the Food Lion Brand Strategy and Culture.
• Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Promote a positive shopping experience with fast, easy, friendly customer service.
