Job summary

Dow Inc. seeks a Database Service Manager to architect and lead database platform solutions across on‑prem, cloud and hybrid environments. You will drive backup/recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and licensing, while partnering with Managed Services and IT leaders to meet SLAs and optimize cost.

You will automate database activities using AI tools, ensure security and performance, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams globally to deliver resilient, scalable data services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience required.
• 5+ years in a related field.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead database platform solutions for Dow.
• Research, analyze and implement RDBMS and database technologies for on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Develop and maintain database technologies roadmap.
• Architect, design and implement backup/recovery, HA and DR, including installations and upgrades.
• Collaborate with Managed Services to deliver tasks efficiently and on schedule.
• Ensure Change, Incident and Problem Management tickets meet SLAs.
• Collaborate with Cloud/On‑prem platforms and other teams to optimize performance and TCO.
• Maintain Dow’s database inventory and licensing needs.
• Assist audits and vendor evaluations; support security and data protection.
