Job summary

Dow has an opening for a Database Service Manager located in Midland, MI or Houston, TX. The primary responsibilities include architecting and leading database platform solutions for Dow across on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments.

You will collaborate with the Database IT Leader and Enterprise Architecture to develop roadmaps, design backup/HA/DR, and ensure secure, scalable data services while minimizing total cost of ownership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience at U.S. E5 or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a closely related field.
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and implement database platform solutions.
• Research, analyze and implement RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle) for on-prem/cloud/hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with IT leaders to develop database technologies roadmap.
• Ensure backup, HA, DR, patching, upgrades and day-to-day operations.
• Coordinate with Managed Services to deliver optimal database solutions.
• Manage change, incident and problem tickets per SLAs for databases.
• Maintain database inventory and assist with licensing and audits.
