Job summary

Dow Inc. seeks a Database Service Manager to architect and lead database platform solutions across on‑premise, cloud and hybrid environments in Midland, MI or Houston, TX. You will partner with IT leaders to design roadmaps, ensure backup/HA/DR, and deliver efficient, secure database services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or military equivalent (US E5/PO2) or 8 years experience.
• Minimum 5 years of related professional experience.
• Ability to work legally in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead database platform solutions across on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with IT leaders to develop and maintain database roadmaps.
• Design backup, high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
• Coordinate with Managed Services to deliver timely DB solutions.
• Ensure changes, incidents and problems meet SLAs.
• Work with cloud and on-prem platforms, developers, security to meet Dow standards and minimize TCO.
• Maintain Dow’s database inventory and licensing.
• Support internal/external audits related to databases.
• Assist leadership in evaluating new solutions and vendor proposals.
• Leverage AI tools to automate DB activities while ensuring security.
