Job summary

Dow Inc. is seeking a Database Service Manager to architect and lead database platform solutions across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments in Midland, MI or Houston, TX. You will partner with IT leaders to design backups, DR, HA, and ensure efficient ongoing operations.

The role requires strong SQL Server/Oracle experience, Azure exposure, and a track record of delivering robust database solutions while controlling costs. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience at E5 rank or higher, or 8 years experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a closely related field.
• US work authorization; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead database platform solutions for Dow across on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with IT leaders and EA teams to maintain a database technologies roadmap.
• Design and implement backup/recovery, HA and DR solutions; handle installation and upgrades.
• Partner with Managed Services to ensure timely delivery of database operations.
• Ensure change, incident and problem management tickets meet SLAs.
• Coordinate with Cloud and On-prem platforms, developers, security and network teams to meet Dow standards and minimize TCO.
