Job summary

Dow Inc. seeks a Database Service Manager to lead architecture of database platforms across on‑prem, cloud and hybrid environments in the United States, with locations in Midland, MI or Houston, TX.

You will drive high‑availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies while collaborating with IT leadership, security, and development teams to deliver secure, high‑performing data services aligned with Dow standards and cost objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or related military experience as per U.S. E5 or Canadian equivalent, or 8 years experience in lieu.
• Minimum of 5 years in a closely related field.
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead database platform solutions for Dow.
• Collaborate to develop and maintain database technologies roadmap.
• Design and implement backup, HA and DR, plus maintenance tasks.
• Partner with Managed Services to deliver operational tasks.
• Ensure Change/Incident/Problem tickets meet SLAs.
• Collaborate with cloud and on‑premise teams to meet Dow standards and minimize TCO.
• Maintain database inventory and licensing needs.
• Assist with audits and evaluate new solutions.
