Job summary

Dow has an opening for a Database Service Manager located in Midland, MI or Houston, TX. The role focuses on architecting and leading database platform solutions for Dow across on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments, with collaboration across IT leadership to develop roadmaps and ensure secure, cost-effective delivery.

Responsibilities include design/implementation of backup, HA and DR, coordinating with Managed Services, and handling change, incident and audit activities while driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience (US E5 or Canadian PO2/Sergeant) or 8 years in lieu.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a closely related field.
• US work authorization; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead database platform solutions for Dow in on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Research, analyze and implement SQL Server, Oracle and other DB technologies.
• Collaborate to develop and maintain database technologies roadmap.
• Design and implement backup, HA, DR and maintenance tasks.
• Partner with Managed Services to deliver solutions and manage day-to-day tasks.
• Coordinate change, incident and problem tickets per SLAs.
• Work with cloud/on-prem platforms, developers, network and security teams.
• Maintain database inventory and licensing needs; support audits.
• Assist IT Leadership in evaluating new solutions and vendor proposals.
• Leverage AI tools to automate database activities while ensuring security.
