Job summary

Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking Data Processing User Support Technician I–II to join the IT team at the specified location. The role provides training and assistance to users on system equipment and software, including installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting of applications such as Office and eSIS.

Eligible applicants must have a high school diploma with strong English, reading comprehension, and verbal skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduation with strong English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• Experience in training and assisting users on computer systems is preferred.
• Must meet driving and lifting requirements per posting.

Responsibilities

• Train and assist users on system equipment and department applications; install and configure software.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems; determine if service calls are needed.
• Maintain contact with users to assess training effectiveness and clarify capabilities.
• Create models, worksheets, and data files to support financial/budget needs.
• Perform on-site installation of hardware and software and coordinate training center activities.
• Manage training center inventory and servers; track expenditures.
