Job summary

Google Saint George data center is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software. You’ll work on racks, networks, and complex components in a fast-moving infrastructure environment.

As part of the Hardware Operations team, you’ll collaborate with teams, participate in projects, and ensure reliability and efficiency of Google’s hyperscale infrastructure. Strong physical and troubleshooting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment.
• Experience diagnosing/troubleshooting OS, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to lift/move 50 lb (23 kg) and perform physical tasks over extended periods.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays, and on-shift schedules.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Report issues and follow procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose straightforward issues.
• Maintain security and integrity of data in accordance with security standards.
• Disassemble equipment at end-of-life in a team setting.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
