Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software in its data centers. You will handle rack installations, network components, and participate in large-scale infrastructure projects.

This role requires hands-on hardware repair, the ability to work non-standard hours, and collaboration with cross-functional teams across global data centers. Compensation includes a competitive package with bonus and equity.

Qualifications

• Experience performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment.
• Experience diagnosing OS, server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and perform physical work.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours, weekends, nights and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Troubleshoot issues and follow procedures to resolve equipment or infrastructure as they arise.
• Maintain data security and integrity per Google standards.
• Disassemble end-of-life equipment in a team setting.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, or infrastructure.
