Job summary

Google Stillwater is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software across Google’s data center infrastructure. You will work with racks, networks, routers, and switches, participating in small project teams and developing contingency plans.

The role requires hands-on hardware skills, ability to lift 50 lb, and willingness to work non-standard hours, including weekends and night shifts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Completion of the Google IT Support Professional Certificate.
2 years of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting OS or hardware or networking.
Experience repairing IT equipment or in similar roles (e.g., Systems Administration, Network Deployment Engineer, Help Desk Technician).
Experience working within data center or network operation center environments.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
Maintain the security and integrity of data per Google standards.
Disassemble equipment that has reached end-of-life with a team.
Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and servers.
