Job summary

Google’s Hardware Operations team seeks an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software for cutting-edge infrastructure. You will handle complex components like networks, routers, hubs and switches while collaborating on small projects and contingency planning.

Role involves physically moving equipment, racks and performing routine maintenance in a demanding data center environment.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing OS, server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to perform component-level repairs on IT equipment.
• Experience in data center or network operation center environments.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot straightforward equipment issues.
• Maintain data security and integrity according to Google standards.
• Disassemble equipment at end-of-life in a team setting.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and servers.
