Job summary

Google Inc. in Saint George, SC, is seeking a Data Center Technician II, Hardware Operations, to install, configure, test, and maintain server hardware and related components in a fast-paced data center environment.

You will work with networking gear, assist in project tasks, and ensure infrastructure reliability while adhering to security standards. Candidates should be able to lift heavy equipment and work non-standard hours if needed.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting OS, server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work non-standard hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose straightforward issues with equipment or infrastructure as they arise.
• Maintain the security and integrity of data in accordance with Google security standards.
• Disassemble equipment that has reached end-of-life and perform part replacement in a team setting.
• Repair, fix, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
