Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain data center hardware and server software. You’ll help configure complex components such as networks, routers and switches, and participate in small project teams on installations.

The role involves manual movement of racks, occasional heavy lifting, and working non-standard hours as needed. Competitive compensation includes a bonus target and equity.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Experience performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment or similar roles.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Report issues and follow procedures to diagnose equipment or infrastructure issues.
• Maintain data security and integrity per security standards.
• Disassemble end-of-life equipment for part replacement or maintenance.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
